Addy and Emma

When I was up in Rochester, NY recently with my dear friend Kim for her first baby shower, we stayed with her friends Amy and Jim and their two gorgeous daughters, Addison and Emma. These sisters are full of love–for each other, for their parents, and even for me! One afternoon we were outside in their beautiful backyard enjoying the absolutely spectacular weather (while meantime it was gross here in Raleigh, haha) and I snapped a few photos of the girls playing around. How can you resist these smiles?!

The Serinos

Not only was Sunday just the most gorgeous day ever for a photo shoot, but also it was Mother’s Day, AND the Serino family had not one, but two moms on the scene! How sweet it was to be able to capture three generations in one picture!

Baby Tristan

All newborn babies do three things: eat, poop, and sleep. But at the same time, every baby is different. Oftentimes even the best sleepers will be wide awake for the entire photo session, because “What the heck, who is this stranger and what is that big black object pointed at me?!” Strange smells, strange noises, and oh yeah, strange poses. Which reminds me–if you are having a baby soon and want to prep him/her for being the best little model ever, start putting him or her in baskets and bowls and crates from day 1. (Just kidding!)

I met five-week-old Tristan on Saturday, and his parents warned me that he’s not a good sleeper. While he did fight it valiantly, eventually the “milk coma” prevailed, and he drifted away. Sweet, sweet baby sleep.

Finn

Finn is something of an overachiever. If the doctor had been right, he wouldn’t even be born yet. But he busted out early and couldn’t wait to meet the world. And the world has showered him with an abundance of love and joy, in the form of a smitten Mommy, Daddy, and big brother.

Baby Jacob

At just 15 days old, little baby Jacob had his first photo shoot and proved he’s destined to be a star!
